Welcome to Tiger Country!
Our proud tradition of excellence and success in academics, athletics, and the arts is second to none. Across the curriculum, our faculty and staff have committed themselves to a school-wide goal of helping our students excel in mathematics, reading, and writing. We invite all parents to become actively involved in our Parent Teacher Resource Organization. We want to continue the success of parents and teachers working together in partnership to benefit our students.

If you would like to be a part of the greatest community, we are now accepting open enrollments.

Dear Gilbert Junior Parents,

As our district continues to implement the Strategic Operating Plan, we at Gilbert Junior High have some new opportunities for our community to become involved on campus.  We also have some continuing traditions that allow opportunities for parent involvement as well.

Please review some of our campus needs and let us know where you can step up and be more involved.

First, we are in need of 7th grade parents to join our PTRO.  We need a minimum of 5 board members to take over the leadership.  If you are interested, we need you to join our PTRO in January and receive training from our current board members.  If we don’t have anyone to take over the reigns, our PTRO will have to disband our 501 C3 status that they have worked so hard to obtain.  We also need many other parents to volunteer and help with various projects.

Secondly, we are creating a school council.  We need two parents to be part of the council.  We also need one community business member.  This council will meet once a month with the principal and will help review campus budgets and other campus needs as directed by the council’s agenda.

The last area of need at this time is one parent to replace our out-going parent on the Gifted Parent Council.  This person will attend a monthly meeting with other parents and district representatives to discuss the needs of our gifted student population.

If you are a parent of a current 7th grade student and are willing to be an integral part of the Tiger community, please contact Kevin Rainey, Principal or Andrea Emerick, Assistant Principal in the office at any time.

Please don’t think someone else will do it; we NEED YOU!

Sincerely,

Kevin Rainey

Principal
