Neely Traditional Academy’s primary focus is on the acquisition of basic skills through direct instruction that puts the teacher at the front of the classroom. Teachers conduct instruction in an environment of respect and productivity. This environment supports both visual and auditory learners and provides repetition and consistency. Highlights of our back-to-basics philosophy include a focus on reading, writing, and mathematics. Independent study skills are fostered in a structured classroom where minimal interruptions occur within the academic day. Neely Traditional Academy is a program of choice. The acquisition of basic skills, primarily through direct instruction, is viewed as the foundation of the learning process. Priority is given to the fundamental tools of learning in the core academic areas of phonics and reading; grammar, spelling and writing; mathematics; history and geography; and science. Students are given opportunities to apply those skills in a meaningful and reinforcing way. Our program provides an academic environment which develops respect, responsibility, honesty, integrity, leadership, and citizenship in accordance with the District's mission statement.

Application Process: Applications are available on this website and can be submitted after Labor Day for consideration for the following school year. Applications are considered for registration based upon District Policy. Starting January of the requested school year, applicants will be contacted to attend an orientation if a place is available. Depending upon student withdrawals, places may become available as late as July prior to enrollment in August.
