Playa del Rey Elementary
A+ School of Excellence
Playa students are challenged daily by highly qualified educators who develop lessons that are rigorous and relevant to our 21st Century. You will hear about how Playa has earned the Arizona A+ Award twice, Character Counts!, Bully-Free Zone, Red Ribbon Week, PTSO Family events, STEM clubs, Oceanography, and Fine Dining. These activities, and more, help create a warm, welcoming environment where children and adults feel comfortable and respected.
A favorite poem, written by Julie Ann Ford, entitled ‘Five Lessons to Live By,’ has been shared with staff, students, and parents. You will see examples of these Five Lessons practiced at Playa: Learn to Laugh, Learn to Listen, Learn to Let Go, Learn to Love, and Learn to Live. Remember, what we see in life depends on what you are looking for—so search for the good in others and appreciate the gifts each day brings. We look forward to welcoming you into the Playa Family.
