Gilbert Junior High School
Academic Information

Dear Gilbert Junior High Parent,

Grade and assignment information, attendance information and communications from teachers and the school will be available on the Infinite Campus Portal.  In the introductory phase, access to the information on the Portal for both students and parents will be accessed from the Student Portal using the student's ID.

Once there, use the Student ID Number as the username.
The password is (first inital)(last name intial)(birthdate in MMDDYY format)

An example for Abraham Lincoln would be - al021209

Inside the portal, students and parents will be presented with several choices on the left side of the screen.  Clicking on each tab changes the contents of the screen.  The information is accurate and reflects any changes recently made.

One area that is particularly important is the - Contact Preferences tab.  Students can use this tab to input their personal email address.  This will allow teachers to communicate with students via email.

At this time, because we are only using the student portal to access student information, there is no option for parents to enter their email address themselves.  You can check to see if your email address is already in our system by logging on to the Student Portal.  Once there, click on Family Members and then click on your name.  If the email field is blank, we do not have your email address in our system.  Please contact our office 480-892-6908 and we will add your email to the system.

At some point during the semester, parents will be provided a special access code in order to register in the system. You will then be able to update your own email addresses, etc.  However, during the initial introductory period, you will only have access to the student portal information.

The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday - Independent Learning
Wednesday - Sustained Silent Reading (SSR)
Thursday - Independent Learning
Friday - PAWS to Organize/Reflection

GJHS Late Work Policy
  • Missed work may be turned in up to two weeks after assignment due date.  Credit will be given at the teacher"s discretion (full credit, 1/2 credit, etc.)
  • Late work must be made up during after school Academic Support.
  • District absent policy is in effect for all late work as a result of a student absence.
  • Late work will not be accepted after the semester grade has posted.
Grade Declaration is now 4 1/2 Progress Report and 9 week Report Card grades.  Parents will be notified of D's and F's when Progress Reports and Report Cards are sent.  Communicate with parents often regarding grades.

Academic Support
Academic Support is an after school tutoring program where students can meet with individual teachers and receive extra help and guidance for a specific class.  Academic Support will take place before or after school.  All teachers will post their schedules as times may vary due to individual teacher schedules.

Assignments that are late/missing will need to be made up with the teacher during Academic Support in order for credit to be received.

Students need to schedule appointments with teachers to attend Academic Support.  It is the child's responsibility to attend Academic Support to make up work.

You will find important information on our academic pages.  Please click on the links in the left hand column for more information.
