Substitute Teaching in Gilbert Public Schools
The Gilbert School District is always in need of quality Substitute Teachers. Substitutes may work a flexible schedule, choosing which days of the week to work and which schools to substitute. We use an automated calling system to make assignments so you must have a local area code (480/602/623) to be in the system.
You may now download and print the substitute application and complete it at home.

To submit an application for Substitute Teacher, you must have a valid Arizona Teaching or Substitute Certificate. If you have a Bachelor’s degree you can apply for an Arizona Substitute Certificate. The Arizona Department of Education requires a Fingerprint Clearance Card, official transcripts (Bachelor’s degree) and an application to issue a Substitute Certificate. Contact them at 602-542-4367 or visit their website at www.ade.state.az.us/ to download the application or for more information.
Call the Department of Public Safety at 602-223-2279 to obtain information regarding a Fingerprint Clearance Card. For local Fingerprinting Services you may call 480-892-4295.
Gilbert Public School accepts Substitute Teacher applications year round. The requirements needed are as follows.
When you have all of the above requirements, please contact Substitute Services at 480-497-3493 to bring in your paperwork and complete additional forms.
