Interest Based Bargaining Team (IBBT)
Gilbert Public Schools and the Gilbert Education Association (GEA) will use an interested based bargaining process for problem solving and future planning. This approach requires that all parties involved practice open, honest, and direct communication. The interest based bargaining process uses data, thoughtful analysis and a consensus decision-making model.
The Interest Based Bargaining Team (IBBT) meets regularly throughout the academic year. Both electronic and face-to-face feedback will be solicited from certified staff during the loop-out and ratification process.

District Office Complex
All meetings are held in the first floor conference room at the District Educational Complex, Building B unless otherwise noted from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Meetings are open and individuals are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The IBBT will consist of the following representatives:
- Two elementary teachers
- One junior high school teacher
- One high school teacher
- One special area teacher
- One elementary administrator
- One junior high school administrator
- One high school administrator
- The Gilbert Education Association president
- One governing board member
- Human Resources administrators
- The assigned Arizona Education Association organizational consultant will participate in the interested based bargaining process as a non-voting member of IBBT.
The GEA President will select the teacher representatives and Human Resources will select the administrative representatives.
