TAX CREDIT DONATIONS
Taxpayers filing in Arizona have the unique opportunity to redirect a portion of state tax dollars they already pay, to public education. The credit allows an Arizona taxpayer to contribute $200 per individual tax return or $400 per joint tax return to a school’s extra curricular program.
How to contribute:
Contributions are to the school of your choice. Gilbert Public Schools has many extracurricular activities or programs that can benefit from these funds! Extracurricular activity means any optional, noncredit activity that supplements the education program of the school. Activities such as field trips, after-school enrichment programs, character education, clubs, athletics, visual & performing arts, and in-state or out-of-state trips solely for competitive events can be funded with tax credit money. Senior trips or events that are recreational, amusement, or tourist activities CANNOT be funded with tax credit money.
Presently, there is one option to submit your tax credit:
- You can download the Elementary Tax Credit Donation 2016 Form or the Secondary Tax Credit Donation 2016 Form form and mail it or bring it to Gilbert Public Schools Community Partnerships Office, 6839 E. Guadalupe Rd, Mesa, AZ 85212.
When the new Online Tax Credit Contribution is ready and available, a second option will be offered:
- You can process your contribution on-line. Tax credit contributions must be postmarked, or electronically submitted by April 15th of each year in order to be applicable for the prior tax year. This gives the tax payer about 3 and half more months to make the contribution as opposed to the previous December 31st deadline. A tax credit receipt will be mailed to you.
Please consider making your tax credit contribution to a Gilbert Public School!
