(Gilbert, AZ) -- Students and their parents Monday night had an opportunity to attend open house events in all Gilbert Public Schools high schools.

Four days into the new school year, the informational sessions were presented in each classroom to allow students and parents to meet teachers, hear course overviews, and get general school information.

Teachers provided class and contact information, and discussed their expectations for the year.

As families visited each classroom, they toured school facilities and stopped at tables with literature and information. School counselors were available to help answer questions.

The open house events distributed information about Parent Booster Groups and Student Activities and Clubs. Spirit Stores were open for families seeking to purchase school related items.

Separate Freshman Parent Orientations for families with kids starting the 9th grade were also held.

High schools in Gilbert’s district include Campo Verde, Desert Ridge, Gilbert High School, Highland and Mesquite.

Canyon Valley School and Gilbert Classical Academy also serve high school students with flexible and alternative curricula.
