American Experience The American Experience Club in conjunction with the American Experience Block Class embraces the essence of the American spirit by studying and researching history on a personal, social and political levels. Athletic Ambassadors The Athletic Ambassadors Club is a school enrichment club that helps show off Highland High School to visiting athletic teams. By hosting the opposing varsity teams when they arrive on campus, our students will show the teams to their locker rooms. welcome the referee crew, and make the visiting team feel welcome on their campus. The club is to ensure that events run smoothly and that Highland High School is represented with class. Tim Barmettler
AVID AVID is an academic elective class that prepares students for the rigors of meeting college entrance by emphasizing critical reading,analytical writing,academic research,collaborative discussion,and inquiry.Students will support each other by participating in collaborative tutorials with peer and college tutors Tuesdays and Thursdays.Students will also prepare for & take the SAT and ACT,while taking advantage of opportunities to learn more about scholarships,financial aid,college life & majors. Best Buddies Best Buddies is a global volunteer movement that creates opportunities for one-to-one friendships for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Through membership in Best Buddies, you will make new friends and gain a better understanding of the needs and abilities of students with IDD. Catholic Teens of Highland The Catholic Club is a new club for those students who want to join with other students at Highland who are members of the Catholic faith. Meetings will be held after school and will involve planning of community service events, sharing of faith, and prayer. Tim Barmettler

Clay Club Clay Club members express themselves once a week making ceramic items and then decorates them with glazes. Students enjoy the freedom to be creative and make things at the same time. Barbie Barmettler
Culinary The Culinary Club is compromised of students in our Advanced Culinary Arts classes. The students help cater and serve at various events on campus and in the community. Mary Brightman
DECA (Distributive Education Cooperative Association) DECA is the success oriented marketing club that addresses advertising, marketing plans, product design, computer useage and much more. DECA helps you to sell the sizzle, not just the steak. Jim Richardson
Digital Photography Students interested in photography, graphic design, and computer art will love DIgital Photography Club! Meet new people, attend seminars with professional photographers, take field trips to photograph new subjects, enter photo contests, participate in "real world photo fundraisers" and learn fun photo crafts. Extra Mile The Extra Mile Club was established to promote and encourage community service for HHS students, as well as recognize students for their humanitarian accomplishments. The club meets every two weeks to plan and promote ways to help those in our community who need help. Bob Allen

FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) FBLA is the premier high school business club in the country. Learn about public speaking, marketing, programming, computer languages, computer applications, accounting, business procedures and much more. FBLA is all about business. Christine Nelson

FCCLA/ Toybox (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) FCCLA is a Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) that focuses on leadership skills and is co-curricular with our ToyBox program. Future Educators of America The Future Educators of America chapter tries to help give HHS students real world experiences in local schools as a stepping stone to a successful career in education. We have over 100 students volunteering in over 20 schools across the Phoenix area, assisting master teachers, networking with district employees and helping to make a difference in the lives of students all across the valley.
