Art Masterpiece Program: Directed by Librarian, Mrs. Morgan,
the Art Masterpiece Program is a wonderful way to introduce our students to some of the world's greatest artists and their work. It is also an exciting opportunity for parents to become involved in their child's classroom. Everyone looks to the day each month when the Art Masterpiece Mom/Dad come to teach the class about the painting of the month.
How does the program work?
The program begins in kindergarten and is continued through the sixth grade. Therefore, by the time a child completes elementary school, they will have been acquainted with 56 famous artists and their work! Beginning in October, a painting will be hung in every classroom of the school. That painting will stay in that classroom for the entire month for the children to observe and enjoy. sometime during the month, the Art Masterpiece Mom/Dad will plan and prepare a one-hour lesson to present to the students about that artist. The lesson should include biographical information about the artist, discussion of the painting, and a game or art activity to reinforce the information being presented. At the end of the month, the painting will rotate to another classroom and a new painting will be introduced. The program duration is from October through April.

There is heavy emphasis placed on fun, sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play. When disputes between teams arise, captains from each time get together and work on a solution that is fair for both teams (play stops until this occurs). The goal is for all students to have fun in a competitive but non-threatening environment.
Sports that are played throughout the school year include the following: Tetherball Tournament, Football, Kickball, Basketball, Soccer, Two-Ball, and Volleyball.

Tiger Town News: The Tiger Town News is shown twice per week school wide in conjunction with Principal announcements. Student newscasters broadcast school news, interesting facts of the day, celebrity Birthdays and upcoming events.
