Gilbert Public Schools uses an online gradebook to facilitate communication between teachers, students and parents. When grades are updated, they are immediately available for everyone to see. The online gradebook also allows for email communication between teachers, students and parents. These emails can be sent by teachers or they can be automated by the recipients. For example, "send an email whenever my student takes a test." Finally, the online gradebook is available to teachers anytime, anywhere. Our old gradebook was on the school computer and was not nearly as convenient for teachers to use.

Highland High School, Canyon Valley School, Greenfield Junior High School are piloting the Infinite Campus Gradebook. The use of the IC gradebook requires the use of the IC portal, so we want to make sure everything is working on a small, controlled scale before we open the portal up to all our parents. In short, the pilot will help us control the rollout of the new gradebook.
