Gilbert Public Schools is in the process of installing security cameras and appropriate signage on all campuses including district offices as an additional measure to protect our students and staff.
Our security cameras are used to deter criminal activity, discourage negative behavior in the school, to have live knowledge of who is on the campus, review archived footage, and to give parents and students added peace of mind.
At this time all high schools have security cameras and signage in place. Work has already begun on our junior high campuses. Elementary campuses will follow.
During active emergency situations, GPS has the ability to share live video feeds with both the Gilbert and Mesa Police Departments. The sharing of this live feed affords the respective police department the ability to respond more effectively when needed.
