Comment: I just wanted to send a message of gratitude and appreciation for all of you! All principals and teachers and nurses. All board members too! Thank you for trying so hard to give all of our kids a normal, happy, enjoyable school year so far. We are so thankful for no masks, no vaccine mandates. We are grateful for you taking care of us all the best you can and keeping our freedoms intact. Have a great day.

Comment: Hello, It is apparent given the holiday season and the recent surge of covid cases, especially among the unvaccinated, that masking, distancing, and additional measures are in definite need in our community. My child, one of few who mask, made it to her first vaccine only to have contracted covid in her school's outbreak. This could have been prevented. Please mandate masks, and consider mandating the vaccine (as you do other vaccines) for all students since they are now eligible.

Comment: Since the AZ state ban on mask mandates was determined by the courts recently, will masks be required in the Gilbert schools again, as they were last year. I believe this would help reduce the spread of COVID-19 as well as other sicknesses (e.g. cold, flu, etc....) and would help reduce absences of children & staff

Comment: As a parent, and an R.N, I am deeply concerned about the health of our students, and of the surrounding communities they interact with. Given new and evolving strains of COVID-19- see video link below regarding Omnicron, and the laissez-faire attitude regarding masking & vaccinations; what measures will the district take to safeguard out students and our communities? I can count on one hand the amount of masks I see on campus. Thank you,

Comment: Please require students and staff to wear face masks indoors during school to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and its variants.

Comment: Please continue to keep masks optional and vaccines optional as it has been working for the kids and those who don't like it have online options. Thank you.

Comment: With covid cases rising again in our community and schools, and with new variants emerging and spreading quickly, I ask that the Board please consider authorizing the administration of covid tests to students and staff (like Los Angeles Unified School District has, and others) since GPS is not presently requiring mask usage indoors on school campuses. A mask mandate would be a proactive mitigation strategy and I ask that the Board please consider it. Thank you.
