Mr. Jesse Brainard, Board Member
Jesse Brainard is a lifelong resident of Gilbert and the first graduate of Gilbert Public Schools (GPS) to serve on the Governing Board in two decades. As a student with an IEP and learning disabilities, Jesse faced unique challenges within the education system. This personal experience fuels his passion to serve his community and ensure all students, regardless of their learning needs, receive the support and opportunities they deserve.
Beyond his personal experience, Jesse grew up within the GPS community as the son of a GPS educator. He brings a deep understanding of the District’s history, values, and the challenges faced by both students and educators. He has worked at the Arizona Legislature for seven years. He assists Arizonans in navigating government services and resolving issues with state agencies. He also leads an internship program for college students interested in public service.
Jesse is honored to serve the District that shaped him. He is dedicated to working collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and staff to support the District’s continued success. He believes that by working together, the District can continue to evolve and provide every student with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed in the future.
