GPS Celebrates Over 400 Volunteers at "Camp VNET"

Dawn Mackay

The energy was exciting at the Highland High auditorium on Saturday, August 1st, as over 400 volunteers gathered for "Camp VNET." Guided by the tagline—Reset. Focus. Prepare.—the day kicked off with a heartfelt welcome from VNET leadership and GPS Superintendent Dr. Jared Ryan. The event is not just about training but also a celebration of the community spirit that fuels Gilbert Public Schools. From training for booster and PTSO board members to workshops on fundraising and unlocking volunteer potential, the agenda was designed to empower the incredible individuals who give so much of themselves to GPS students and families.

VNET’s annual day of training and connecting for Gilbert Public Schools volunteers is uniquely special to this district, and its success is down to the incredible work of the VNET leaders who were out in force wearing their green t-shirts, handing out goody bags, directing people where they needed to go, and delivering high-quality workshops. The all-day event was a great success and ensures all GPS volunteers are ready for another successful year, at all 38 campuses across the district.
