Upcoming Music Events:
15th Annual Winterfest - Saturday, December 11, 11 AM- 4 PM - all GCA music groups perform.
Bands perform at 11:00 amGuitar performs at 12:30 pmOrchestras perform at 1:00 pmChoirs perform at 2:00 pmTickets will be available for 50 cents each the day of the event. Cash, check or debit/credit cards will be accepted for tickets, food and auction items that day.The food counter will open at 11:30 am with hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers as well as a selection of drinks and snacks.A reminder that students are to wear their GCA music shirt with khaki pants or skirt for their performance.Symphonic Strings, Wind Ensemble, and Chorale Anaheim Trip: January 28-30, 2022
Music Department Updates:
The music department is launching its auction fundraiser for the annual WinterFest event! WE NEED YOUR HELP!! Each music class is collecting items and/or donations for their themed "gift baskets" that will be included in the silent auction. The themes for each of the classes are:
BANDS:
7th Grade Band - ASU Basket
8th Grade Band - Gardener's Paradise
Percussion and Beginning Band - Ace of Baking
Symphonic Band - The Great Outdoors

Each music teacher will email parents in each ensemble with specific needs for their basket. We can also accept tax-deductible donations of other items to include in the silent auction. Contact any of the music teachers asap to put you in touch with our team of volunteers who are organizing WinterFest! Let's make the 15th annual WinterFest the best one yet!!

GCA Choir
Under the leadership of Choir Director, Ted Gibson, the following courses are available:
Junior High
Girls Choir -“Belles Chanteuses”
This course is a study of beginning and intermediate music concepts: music reading skills with emphasis on solfege, vocal technique,
and performance skills. No previous experience is required and students will not be required to sing alone. The purpose of this course
is to encourage students to have fun while studying different types of music, including traditional, musical theater, jazz, and popular
styles, as well as music in foreign languages.
Boys Choir - “Lacones”
This course is a study of beginning and intermediate music concepts: music reading skills with emphasis on solfege, vocal technique
with a focus on the boy’s changing voice, and performance skills. No previous experience is required and students will not be required to
sing alone. The purpose of this course is to encourage students to have fun while studying different types of music, including
traditional, musical theater, jazz, and popular styles, as well as music in foreign languages.High school
Advanced Women’s Chorus
This advanced women’s choir course will provide students the opportunity to study literature of all style periods, vocal technique and
musicianship skills. The choir will serve as a feeder program for Chorale upon acquisition of skills. Concert performances will be every
nine weeks.Men’s Chorale
This course will feature a study of tenor and bass literature in a variety of styles with an emphasis on vocal technique and musicianship
skills. The choir will serve as a feeder into chorale upon acquisition of skills. Concert performances will be every nine weeks.Chorale:
This advanced mixed choir will provide students the opportunity to study literature of all style periods, advanced vocal techniques and
