About Neely Traditional Academy
-
GPS was an early adopter of Traditional education with Neely Traditional Academy, established in 1999. The traditional model offers students access to rigorous education experience, with high expectations for all students in academic achievement, music and art performance, physical education, and technology, with a focus on character development.
Students in these programs will engage in the traditional instructional model in Reading and Math. The Spalding method teaches comprehensive, spelling, writing and reading with phonics. Math instruction utilizes Saxon Math which is a program that develops a deep mastery of math skills and concepts through instruction that builds on prior knowledge through an incremental, distribution, and cumulative approach.

Welcome to Neely Traditional Academy! Home of the Knights! We are a caring kindergarten through 6th grade community of talented and motivated students and staff and supportive families. We offer a traditional curriculum and environment focusing on rigor, relevance, and relationships as we build a solid foundation for future academic and life success. Our goal is for our students to have a life-long love of learning, lasting friendships, and perseverance to prevail.
My love of learning is the reason I have been in education for over 20 years as a teacher, junior high guidance counselor, assistant principal, and principal. I believe that all students have the ability to learn with guidance, coaching, and encouragement to acquire skills and knowledge that will last a lifetime.
