Tim Moses Ed.D., Principal
Welcome to Superstition Springs Elementary; Home of the Sidewinders! My name is Tim Moses Ed.D. and I am the principal of SSE. I have been a proud member of the Gilbert Public Schools Family since 1998 serving as a teacher, dean of students, and principal.
Superstition Springs is proud to be an “A+ School of Excellence” school. The Superstition Springs staff is excited to continue our reputation for providing a positive and respectful learning environment for all students. By incorporating successful and innovative instructional strategies, using quality formative and summative student assessments to guide instruction, providing meaningful, engaging, and purposeful student activities, and encouraging community and family involvement, students are provided with a wide range of learning opportunities to meet their individual needs and excel in their academic endeavors. Superstition Springs emphasizes the development of strong student character through Character Counts and CHAMPS which focus on the six pillars of character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. Students and staff model good character daily by demonstrating SSE’s 3 to Be – Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. We celebrate students’ good character with weekly drawings and quarterly “Powerhouses.” Students are also able to participate in many extra-curricular activities, including chorus, student council, band, Battle of the Books, oratorical contests, spelling bees, science camp, chess club, keyboarding, art masterpiece, fun runs, choir, running club, and field days. We invite you to stop by and see for yourself why SSE is A Great Place to Be!
Our Mission: Superstition Springs Elementary will provide a student-centered learning environment that allows all students opportunities to excel academically, physically, socially, and emotionally.
Our Vision: Superstition Springs Elementary will excel in academics by meeting the changing needs of all our students through education of the whole child (academic, physical, social, emotional/behavioral).

Morning Announcements
-
“Gooooood Morning SSE!" Thanks for tuning in to Stormy’s Sensational Story. SSE’s news that is second to none.” SSE’s students start each day by watching our daily morning announcements broadcast over our closed-circuit TV system. Students in grades 4, 5, and 6, take turns being our morning announcers and videographer. After listening to a patriotic song, students lead the school in the Pledge of Allegiance and share the news for the day. The morning news has become a part of the classroom routine each morning as the news program is the way we distribute information about upcoming events and our lunch menu. Dr. Moses makes regular appearances on the announcements not only for students to know who he is, but to help build a sense of community within our school.
