GCA Announcements

  • GCA Math Club attended the Scottsdale Community College Math/Science competition. The project team of Derek Scandrett, Kris Amerman, and Matthew Hannah won 1st place building a roller coaster per specifications. The roller coaster had to have a loop and a hill. The objective was to send a marble down the roller coaster that would stop as close to the end without falling off. Their 1st run was the winning run. All 3 won a scholarship to SCC and a Barnes and Noble gift card. Also, Jamie Li received the highest score for GCA on the math exam and 1st place for Algebra II receiving a scholarship to SCC and Barnes and Noble gift card. Congratulations to all students who participated.

  • Congratulations are in order to the following JH Band students who auditioned to gain entry into the Arizona All-State Band in March! Aiden Feirstein, our only 7th grader, placed 2nd chair in the state on Baritone Saxophone. 8th graders are Caleb Cooper on Alto Saxophone, William Friedman on Tuba, Isabella Smith on Euphonium and Wayne Tang on Tenor Saxophone. These students will be performing on March 14 at Valley Vista HS in Surprise with the top JH Band students from across the state.

  • Do you need help with math or Latin? GCA Saturday morning tutoring is now available. Latin is from 8 to 12 am and math from 9 to 11 am. Cost is $5. Check the school calendar for specific dates.

  • Open Peer Tutoring is now available during high school lunch and after school on the following days:

    HS Lunch Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 11:50 - 12:20 pm (Not Wednesday) in the Cybrary.

    After school Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 2:20 - 3:20 pm in the Cybrary. Wednesday 1:20 - 2:20 pm in the College/Career Center.
