GCA STEM Service Learning Projects Win Top Prizes

The ASU EPICS High Virtual Olympiad is a competition among teams from high schools around the valley participating in the ASU Engineering Projects in Community Service program. This year's challenge was to research and design a water collection and storage system for a remote village in Africa. GCA entered 19 teams, and of these, five were chosen to present at the final engineering design review. Two of the GCA teams came away with the top two prizes. Team "Rooftop Catchment,” consisting of Ayla Young, Khushi Parikh, Keely Sorenson, and Madison Ngo, placed second and won the Best Presentation Award. Winning first place and the Impact Award was Team "Repair the Reservoir,” consisting of Keilani Uehara, Lizzie Beistle, Ellie Dobbs, and Cayden Perry. Congratulations on a job well done!
