Gilbert Public Schools Governing Board Brief - April 7, 2020
The Governing Board met for a work-study and brief board business meeting on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.
The meeting was called to order at 5:30pm and began in Executive Session to discuss the potential appointments of Tyler Dumas as the Principal of South Valley Junior High, and Brian Winter as the Principal of Gilbert High School.
The brief board business meeting was called to order at 6:40pm.
The consent agenda was approved with a 5-0 vote:
3.02 Certified Personnel
3.03 Support Staff Personnel
Item 4.03 and 4.04 were pulled from the agenda.
The following action agenda items were approved with 5-0 votes:
4.01 Approval of the Appointment of Tyler Dumas as the Principal of South Valley Junior High for the 2020 - 2021 School Year
4.02 Approval of the Appointment of Brian Winter as the Principal of Gilbert High for the 2020-2021 School Year
4.05 Approval to Suspend a Portion of Board Policy GDN - Supervision of Support Staff Members which states, "Supervision shall include evaluation of the employee."
4.06 Approval of the Renewal of 2020-2021 Administrator Contracts
4.07 Approval of Professional Development Half Days for 2020 - 2021
4.08 Approval of Sun Valley Builders, LLC for District Office Remodeling
The brief board business meeting was adjourned at 7:05pm.
The work-study was called to order at 7:05pm.
Dr. Barbara Newman, Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, and Mr Jon Castelhano, Executive Director of Technology Services presented an update for the Governing Board on Remote Learning.
