Governing Board Brief - August 9, 2022
The Governing Board met for a scheduled ‘Work-Study and Brief Board Business Meeting’ on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.
The Work-Study was called to order at 6:00pm.
The meeting began with a presentation - ‘Novel Approval Process’, presented by Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Dr. Barbara Newman.
A presentation on ‘Safety and Security’ followed, presented by Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools, Ms. Marcie Taylor, and Director of Safety and Security Mr Allen Cain.
The ‘Work- Study’ was adjourned at 7:10 pm, and the ‘Brief Board Business Meeting’ was called to order. Mr. Bill Parker was not present.
The following Consent Agenda was approved with a 4-0 vote:
5.02 Certified, Professional, Exempt Support Staff, Hourly Support Staff, and Substitute Personnel - Certified
5.03 Convert/Upgrade Former Computer Labs to Classroom Spaces at Augusta Ranch and Ashland Ranch Elementary
5.04 Gilbert Public Schools Bank Check Signers
5.05 Gilbert Public School Payroll and Accounts Payable Check Signers
5.06 Cooperative Contract Vendors with Estimated Spends Exceeding $100,000 for Fiscal Year 2022-2023
5.07 Secured Entryway and Front Office Remodel at Gilbert Classical Academy
5.08 Overnight or Out of State Travel
5.09 Out of State Travel for Staff
The Action Item Agenda followed with a follow-up presentation on ‘Phase II Energy Project - LED Lighting Upgrades, Smart Irrigation and Artifical Turf’. This was presented by Mr. Brandon Woodward of Sneider Electric, with input from Mr Brian Yee, Principal Highland High School.
The above ‘Item’ was approved with a 4-0 vote.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
