Governing Board Updates

The Governing Board met for a special organizational meeting and brief board business meeting on Tuesday, January 7, 2020.

The Governing Board voted 5-0 to appoint Dr. Charles Santa Cruz as the Governing Board President for the coming year.

The Governing Board voted 5-0 to appoint Mrs. Lori Wood as the Governing Board Clerk for the coming year.

The Governing Board discussed potential changes to meeting times.  The Board voted 5-0 to maintain the current timings of both board meetings and policy meetings, to be reviewed in May 2020.

The Governing Board voted 5-0 to maintain ‘Operational Rules of Order’ as they are prescribed.

The Governing Board voted 5-0 to approve the following committee assignments for the following year:

  • Policy Committee of the Whole
  • Enrollment Management Committee of the Whole
  • Legislative Representative - Dr. Charles Santa Cruz
  • Town of Gilbert liaison - Mr. Reed Carr
  • City of Mesa liaison - Mrs. Lori Wood
  • Gilbert Education Foundation liaison - Mrs. Jill Humpherys
  • Insurance Trust representative - Mrs. Sheila Uggetti
  • Audit Committee representative - Mr. Reed Carr

The special organizational meeting was adjourned at 7:15pm.

A brief board business meeting was then called to order.

The consent agenda was approved with a 5-0 vote.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:20pm.
