Back to School Updates - July 31, 2020

Dear GPS parents and families,

Thank you for your continued support as we all work together to ensure that we are ready for a positive start to the new school year.  Please see below a number of updates and reminders.

Executive Order Update - Arizona Department of Health Services are expected to provide benchmarks next week by Friday August 7th, as per Governor Ducey’s executive order, to help guide our in-person reopening plans.  We will continue to update our community regarding this.

Learning Model Selection Changes - Over the last few days a number of families have requested a change in preference for their student’s learning model for the 2020/21 school year.   In order for our schools, teachers and students to be ready to learn Wednesday August 5th, 2020, please understand that we cannot accommodate any changes to learning model selections until further notice.  It is important that we are able to finalize class rosters, staffing and class schedules. All students will start online August 5th, with allocated teachers and schedules.  Please expect further communication and updates.

Annual Update - It is extremely important that your student’s contact information is up-to-date in Infinite Campus to ensure that the district and your school can reach you by email and telephone.  If you have not done so already, please log in to the parent portal for Infinite Campus and complete this year’s Annual Update.

Student Login - Student login information is available from your child’s school.  Please reach out directly to the school for this information or contact the GPS Help Desk on 480-497-3417 or email helpticket@gilbertschools.net.

Infinite Campus Portal - Secondary students will have access to their schedules in Infinite Campus beginning Monday morning.  This was temporarily disabled in order to update master schedules to meet the needs of our students and families during this time.  Counselors remain available onsite for any questions regarding student course selections.

Thank you again, for your continued support.
