Important Message for GPS Families - 11/19/2020 | Read More

Dear Gilbert Public Schools Parents and Families,

As previously communicated, Gilbert Public Schools implemented a district-wide face-covering policy for all staff and students (1st grade - 12th grade) earlier this school year, following Maricopa County Health guidelines.

Today, the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) released an ‘Emergency Measure’ mandating the wearing of face coverings by all staff, students, contractors, and visitors while on school property, including school buses, during school-associated activities, and while participating in or observing any school-associated athletic activities.

As a result of the ADHS ‘Emergency Measure’, Gilbert Public Schools will now extend the district face-covering policy to include Preschool and Kindergarten students, effective Monday, November 23rd until further notice. The district policy will be updated to reflect this change. Campus staff will continue to provide support to students and families, including with regard to exceptions and the provision of mask breaks as appropriate.

Please continue to adhere to all mitigation strategies including:

  • Wear face-coverings when on campus both outside and inside
  • Maintain physical distancing whenever possible
  • Stay home when sick
  • Complete the daily student health assessment before attending school
  • Frequent hand-washing and use of hand-sanitizer

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to your school.

Thank you for your continued support of Gilbert Public Schools.
