Important Update for Families - January 4, 2020 | Read More

Dear Gilbert Public Schools Parents/Guardians and Employees,

The Governing Board approved the following at tonight’s meeting:

  • K-12 students will return to school in a hybrid delivery model Tuesday, January 5 2021 as planned, until January 29 or earlier when vaccines are made available to educators.

A hybrid instructional delivery model is designed to act as a mitigation strategy to minimize the potential spread of COVID-19 on campuses.

Hybrid schedule week beginning January 5th will go ahead as already communicated by district and your campus:

  • Tues 1/5 & Thurs 1/7 - Students with last names A-L
  • Wed 1/6 & Fri 1 /8 - Students with last names M-Z

Please expect further communication regarding an alternating day hybrid schedule to begin Monday January 11th for the duration of hybrid learning.  Specific dates and information to follow.

Special Education

Students designated as Level C and students placed in special programs (Academic SCILLS, CD SCILLS, Functional Academic SCILLS, LIFE/MD SCILLS, SPICE 1, SPICE 2, COPE or ESAP) will attend campus five days a week during the period of hybrid learning.

Nutrition Services

Curbside meals will continue to be offered at Gilbert Public Schools elementary school locations only during hybrid.  The student does not need to be present.  Families may pick up one free breakfast and one free lunch per child, Monday-Friday 7:00 am - 9:00 am, on the days they are not attending in-person school.  Children at school sites will be offered free breakfast and lunch according to their normal meal times.  The USDA has extended free meals to all children 18 years and younger throughout this school year.

Please expect further communication from your student’s school and teacher(s).  You can also visit for the most up to date information and reach out directly to your school with specific questions.
