Important Update for Families - January 25, 2021 | Read More
January 25, 2021 (Emailed Notification)
Dear Gilbert Public Schools Parents and Families,
Thank you for your continued patience and flexibility. This email is to notify you that, following the Governing Board motion approved January 5, 2021, district-wide hybrid learning will conclude this Friday, January 29. On Monday, February 1, 2021 all schools will return to five days full-time in-person learning.
As an additional mitigation strategy and to continue to support minimizing the spread of COVID-19, when in full-time in-person learning we will use a school by school temporary hybrid learning model approach. If an individual school reaches the percentages below for active cases per campus population, a decision may be made for that school to move temporarily to a hybrid instructional delivery model for a minimum of 14 days. An active case is defined as a student or staff member that has been participating in on-campus activities and has tested positive for COVID-19. Once an individual is cleared to return to campus they are no longer considered an active case. Decisions regarding moving to temporary hybrid learning will be made on Wednesdays and all affected will be notified immediately of hybrid learning going into effect the following Monday.
Percentage of active cases per campus population to determine school moves to temporary hybrid learning model:
- 1% for High Schools
- 1.5% for Junior High Schools
- 2% for Elementary Schools
- 5 active cases for Canyon Valley School
- 3 active cases for RISE Junior High School

We will continue to keep you updated and please expect further communication from your school(s). Please reach out to your campus administration with any questions. Thank you for your continued support of Gilbert Public Schools.
