Important Information for Families - March 25, 2021 | Read More

Dear Gilbert Public Schools Families and Employees,

Earlier today, Thursday, March 25th, Governor Doug Ducey released a new Executive Order that rescinds a number of previous Executive Orders.

However, it is important to note that this new Executive Order does not include or rescind Executive Order 2020-51 or the emergency order from Arizona Department of Health Services AZDHS Emergency Measure 2020-04  that specifically requires school districts to have a face-covering policy in place.

The AZDHS Emergency Measure 2020-04 states:

Masks must be worn on school campuses, on school buses, and during school-associated activities, by all students, faculty, staff, contractors, and visitors.

Therefore, at this time, in line with Executive Order 2020-51 and AZDHS Emergency Measure 2020-04, Gilbert Public Schools is required to continue with the existing face-covering policy on our properties and on our campuses.

Thank you again for your ongoing support as we work together to support the health and wellbeing of our students, families, and the wider community.

Sincerely,

Shane McCord, Ed.D.

Superintendent
