Governing Board Brief - July 26, 2022

The Governing Board met for a scheduled Governing Board Business Meeting on Tuesday, July 26, 2022.

The meeting began with the Superintendent’s Report.  Dr. Shane McCord highlighted the following:

  • Thank you to everyone for a great first day of school with lots of positive energy and smiles.
  • Thank you to our Operations Department for all the work accomplished over the summer.
  • Thank you to Community Ed employees Rose Gonzalez, Tyler Newman, and Hollye Morales for putting together a job fair last week, where 13 new employees were hired.  They took the initiative to ensure all of our campus VIK programs were staffed for our students and families.
  • Saturday August 13th VNET (Volunteer Network) Expo at 8am at Gilbert High School for our boosters and PTSOs to receive training on fundraising, how to hold meetings, and finance.  Thank you to VNET for all their work!

Requests to Speak to the Governing Board followed.  There was one request to speak.

The ‘Monthly Budget Report’ followed, presented by Associate Superintendent, Ms. Bonnie J. Betz.

A ‘Report on Phase II Energy Project - LED Lighting Upgrades, Smart Irrigation and Artificial Turf’ followed.  This was presented by Associate Superintendent, Ms. Bonnie J. Betz and Director of Operations, Mr. Albert Dutchover. 

The Consent Agenda was approved with a 5-0 vote.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:17 pm.
