The Governing Board met for a scheduled ‘Regular Board Business Meeting’ on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.  The meeting was called to order at 6:00pm.

The meeting began with the Superintendent’s Report.  Dr. Shane McCord, Superintendent highlighted the following:

Congratulations to Cara Summerfield, Family and Consumer Science teacher at Highland Junior High -  Received a $10,000 grant from Maricopa Superintendent’s Office and with support from GEF purchased a Glowforge for her class.
GEF Business leaders Breakfast last week - Thank you to all the businesses for attending and for their support.  Special guest at the breakfast was Amigo, a therapy dog at Gilbert Elementary.
Last Saturday over 300 GPS volunteers attended the VNET Kick-off event at Gilbert High - The theme was Superheroes Unite - We are so grateful for the support we receive from our parents and volunteers at our schools.

There were no requests to speak to the Governing Board.

Next on the agenda was the Monthly Budget Report, presented by Ms. Bonnie J. Betz, Associate Superintendent of Business Services.
