This capstone course will emphasize engineering research. Students will work in teams to research, design, and construct a solution to an open-ended engineering problem. Students will apply principles developed in the preceding courses and are guided by a community mentor. Students will present progress reports, submit a final written report and defend their solution to a panel of outside reviewers at the end of the school year. This is the final course in a sequence offered by Project Lead the Way (PLTW). This course is taught at Desert Ridge High School and Mesquite High School, but is open to students from all Gilbert Public Schools.
