Through problems that engage and challenge, students explore a broad range of engineering topics, including mechanisms, the strength of structures and materials, and automation. Students develop skills in problem solving, research, and design while learning strategies for design process documentation, collaboration, and presentation. This course will include concerns about social and political consequences of technological change. This is the first course in a sequence offered by Project Lead the Way (PLTW). This course is taught at Desert Ridge High School and Mesquite High School, but is open to students from all Gilbert Public Schools.
