This class will focus on developing and improving sophisticated reading skills which are essential for academic success and lifelong learning. By building skills such as vocabulary acquisition, fluency, and comprehension strategies, students will learn to approach, understand and analyze a variety of texts, from fiction to informational pieces. Through collaborative activities, discussions, and targeted instruction, students will cultivate confidence in reading while mastering the skills needed to read increasingly complex text.
