Course content includes: human-environment interactions; development and interactions of cultures; state-building expansion and conflict; creation, expansion, and interaction of economic systems; the development and transformation of social structures. Because inquiry is the cornerstone in the study of history and the social sciences, students will develop and utilize skills in the same context as historians and social scientists. These skills will include analyzing primary and secondary sources, reasoning and contextualization, causation, continuity and change over time. This course is designed to prepare students to successfully complete the Advanced Placement Exam in May.
