This course will examine the nature of criminality, including both legal and social aspects. Topics will include the role of citizens, law enforcement and the court system, relative to crime in a democratic society. Students will study the criminal trial process and how courtrooms run through mock trials. An examination of basic forensic techniques and practices will be included. Students will examine laws in the United States and around the world, and explore career opportunities in the criminal justice field.
