This course dives into the study of marine organisms and their interactions with the environment. Topics include the history and physical characteristics of the ocean, sea floor spreading, life cycle of an island, winds and the Coriolis effect, water chemistry, salinity, and the ecology of ocean zones and communities. Organisms will be explored through microscopy, dissection, and modeling.
