This course will introduce the design, layout and fabrication of jewelry and small objects in metal and related materials, with an emphasis on elements of design in three dimensional art objects. Coursework will include piercing, sawing, filing, forming and finishing jewelry or sculptural forms. Processes may include welding, hot forming, tool-making, etching, basic stone setting, soldering and lost-wax casting of metals and related materials. This course is taught at Gilbert High School and Mesquite High School, but is open to students from all Gilbert Public Schools.
