IB Mandarin Chinese Higher Level I & Level II

This two year course will enable students to extend the range and complexity of their Mandarin Chinese language skills through the study of (5) interdisciplinary IB themes. Students will read and write a wide variety of text types as they investigate audience, context, purpose, meaning and variation. Students will analyze, construct and justify their personal opinions about topics related to the course content in both speaking and writing. Students will study and critique two Chinese-language works of literature and develop international-mindedness as they explore Chinese-speaking cultures. This course is designed to prepare students to successfully complete the IB Higher Level Exam.
