Gilbert Public Schools FFA Chapters Shine at Arizona State Leadership Conference!

Students from Gilbert Public Schools FFA chapters recently traveled to Tucson to participate in the 2026 Arizona FFA State Leadership Conference, held June 4-6 at the Tucson Convention Center and Centennial Hall. The annual event brought together FFA members from across the state for leadership development, competitions, service projects, workshops, and recognition ceremonies.

Throughout the conference, students participated in Leadership Development Events (LDEs), attended motivational sessions, engaged in hands-on workshops, and connected with fellow agricultural leaders from across Arizona. Several Gilbert Public Schools students earned top honors, scholarships, and prestigious state-level recognition.

Campo Verde High School FFA celebrated several significant accomplishments during the conference. Jaylyn McCleve was named Arizona FFA State Star Greenhand, one of the organization's highest honors for first-year members. Liam Burgess earned first place in the Auctioneering Contest, and three Campo Verde FFA members received their State FFA Degrees.

Gilbert High School FFA members also found success at the state level. Harper earned first place in the SAE Showcase Display competition, while Mia Conti received both the Visual Impulse Ag and Metal Scholarship and the Otto and Edna Neely Scholarship. Additionally, four Gilbert High FFA members were awarded their State FFA Degrees.

Highland High School FFA brought home an impressive list of accomplishments. Rebecca Dillard earned first place in Creed Speaking, while Abby Imogoh was named a division winner in the Agriscience Fair. Ivan Rubio received the Landscape Proficiency Award, and Grace Kopp earned the Specialty Animal Proficiency Award along with a Neely Foundation Scholarship. Isabelle French was also awarded a Neely Foundation Scholarship. Graduating seniors Paden Dillard and Hannah Regan earned multiple scholarships, including Williams Family and JR Cullison scholarships. Additional Highland members represented the chapter through State Choir participation, State FFA Degree recognition, and Leadership Development Event competitions.

Mesquite High School FFA members Jeremy and Mia were recognized for earning their State FFA Degrees, highlighting their dedication and achievement within the organization.

Desert Ridge High School FFA marked a milestone by attending the State Leadership Conference for the first time in more than a decade. Five members represented the chapter and participated in service activities, including creating paracord dog leashes for donation to the Pima Animal Care Center. Their participation reflected the conference's emphasis on leadership through community service.

The accomplishments of Gilbert Public Schools FFA students demonstrate the strength of agricultural education programs across the district. Through leadership development, competition, service, and career preparation, these students continue to embody the values of the FFA organization while preparing for future success in agriculture and beyond.
